Equion Consulting is an IT Communications Solutions and Services company delivering unrivalled, professional advice and practical and original business solutions to major clients since 1992.

We are a results-driven organisation dedicated to giving our clients competitive advantage through the innovative use of technology. We deliver real results, often troubleshooting and recovering projects where previous initiatives have failed.

Equion Consulting's credentials are based first and foremost on the quality and experience of our people. Our Project Managers, Consultants and Architects typically have 20-30 years of IT experience and our Software Engineers typically have 10 years' experience with a good degree in Computer Science or similar. Examples of our people are:

John McGuire, Principal Consultant

John McGuire has over 27 years IT experience and is responsible for the delivery of many major, innovative and leading edge, business critical projects in the UK, Europe and USA. His experience includes project & programme management, project troubleshooting, risk management, technical and business consultancy, business process management, software engineering and systems integration.

Prior to Equion Consulting, he was a consultant with Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) responsible for the delivery of business critical projects to Lloyds Bank, Eastern Electricity, London Electric, BP, Shell, Chevron, and many other companies. Before DEC, John was a software engineer and project manager at BT’s London Research & Development Centre working on key telecommunications projects.

John’s educational qualifications include an M.Sc. in Computer Science from University College, London; MBA from Strathclyde University; MA in Mass Communications from University of Leicester and a B.Sc. Honours Degree from the University of Dundee.

Dr. Mike Newens, Principal Consultant

Mike Newens has over 20 years in helping businesses to derive maximum benefit from their investment in Internet & Intranet Systems, Customer Information Systems, Customer Services Systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems and Marketing Database systems.

His expertise includes Technical Consultancy, Project Management, Business Analysis, Data Modelling, Functional and Design Specification, Software Development and Testing.

Dr Newens’ educational qualifications include a First Class Honours and Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Exeter. He is a British Computer Society Chartered IT Professional.

Ian Gordon, Senior Software Engineer

Ian Gordon is a Senior Software Engineer with over 10 years IT industry experience in delivering Internet & Intranet Systems, Social Software, Marketing Systems, Content Management Systems and Search Systems.

Prior to joining Equion Consulting, Ian worked at Logica CMG, Which? and the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.

Ian has an honours degree in Computer Science from the University of Aberdeen and is a member of the British Computer Society.
